Who this policy covers
This policy applies to two groups: the businesses that hire JHB Inc to handle their missed calls, and the customers of those businesses who call them and receive a follow-up text message through our system. We act as a service provider to the business; the business remains responsible for its own relationship with its customers.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to provide the service:
- Phone numbers — the number a customer calls from, so the system can text them back.
- Message content — the text messages exchanged between the customer and the business through our system, so we can route, schedule, and respond appropriately.
- Job details a customer chooses to share — such as a name, service address, and a description of the issue, when the customer provides it in reply to a text.
- Business account information — the business owner's name, business name, contact details, and billing information needed to provide and bill for the service.
- Basic usage data — timestamps and delivery status of messages, used to operate the service and produce activity summaries for the business.
We do not buy phone numbers from third parties, and we do not add anyone to messaging from purchased or rented lists. Every customer we text has first called the business directly.
How we use information
- To send the missed-call follow-up text and carry on the resulting conversation.
- To route urgent requests to the business owner and help schedule non-urgent jobs.
- To send the business a summary of activity, including overnight recaps.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the service.
- To bill businesses and provide customer support.
- To comply with legal obligations and carrier messaging requirements.
How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the service:
- With the business you contacted — a customer's messages, contact details, and job information are shared with the business the customer called, since that business is who the customer is trying to reach.
- With service providers — we use trusted vendors to deliver messages and process payments, including Twilio (messaging) and Stripe (billing). These providers may only use the information to perform services for us.
- When required by law — to comply with a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of JHB Inc, our customers, or the public.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile opt-in data is shared with any third party for marketing.
Text messaging
Customers receive text messages because they called a business that uses our service and the call went unanswered. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on the conversation. A customer can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, or HELP for help. Opting out ends messaging from that business through our system.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, and operational requirements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any message to opt out of further texts.
- Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, subject to legal limits.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
Children's privacy
Our service is intended for businesses and their adult customers. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
